Kisagaru the White

The year was unknown. The time and place however, was irrelivant. the place where they stood was only a small boulder of land, mabye about 20 by 20 feet at most. Everywhere else, was either large chunks of land, or nothing at all. The events of the past couple days, mabye even weeks, was catastrophic. What started out as a gathering of freinds for the participation of a tournament, turned into a fight to save the world. Blut, one of my freinds over the years, had gone mad. Hisinner darkness, only known as Haru, had taken him over. Part after part of Bluts mind became taken over, leaving Blut only able to watch as everything unfolded. First, he had destroyed his home town, after which we caught up with him. Lucian, myself, and Erk, came upon the destroyed village and Haru, just as he had finished. I went mad when I saw what he had done. he had always been kind and gentle to these people, and to see him standing over them, their blood stained all over him, just made me snap. I let him out. why did I let him out? I knew it would have only been trouble. But still, I let him out. The Beast, my other half. He went, beserk, with my feelings. We fought Blut over and over again, and he escaped every time, because of my weakness. It was that I still believed, that somewhere inside him, he was there. Turns out I was right. Like that helped though. We had battled long and hard that day, and I had used up almost all my power, yet I still continued. I summoned up all his power, and let hellfire rage. I let them loose too. My compainions over the years. They were my swords true forms. They were people, but they had been cursed to live as weapons, untill one of power found them. Turns out I was the idiot who did. I didnt even really know how to use them. All I knew, all I thought, was that they were weapons to be used. And that, almost led to my downfall. It was one of the fiercest battles I had ever fought. But, in the end, I proved to be too cocky, and weak. He struck out at me, and broke both my swords, landing a critical wound down my chest and stomach. I just layed there on the ground, willing myself to move. I couldn't, no matter how hard I wanted to. Then, I appeared before my swords, and they deemed me not worthy to use them. I had to figure out their names, or I would die. In the end, I did. Then, I appered back on the battlefeild, my wounds healed. I got up, and fought against him again. In the middle of the fight, Haru let me in on a little secret: Blut was still alive inside him. He sent himself and I into him, appearing in a cemetery. Blut was in chains. I loosed my strongest attack on him, but he still destroyed it. Afterwords, annother monster appeared. Finally, Haru needed Blut. He let him loose, and they combined. Then, they appeared on the outside, the monster there also. Blut and Haru combined, making them able to defeat the thing that had come out of him.Konohomaru, I think. He attacked all of us, Erk and Lucian included. they had caught up to me, somehow. Konohomaru tried to destroy us, but Haru and But made sure he couldnt. he gave us all the powers he had, and made us strong enough to fight Konohomaru. In the end, it was Blut that had killed him. But, he had used too much power destroying all of our opponents. Why did he...I could have helped...I might have been able to save him....why.....why did he! These questions, alas, remain unknown. I couldnt do anything, not even help him. So, he died. I tried saving him. I was about to give my life for his. But he wouldnt let me... And then...after all of the pain and sadness...after Bluts death...yet annother feind appeared. In the end, yet again someone else was yet to die. But this time, it was me. I used the only attack I could, the attack I had used to conquer Hell. But, as it was back then, and how it was now, the attack, was too much for me. To add onto it, the beast still had parts of him left. Dark, with our help, pused the beats into the sun. Now, all I have yet to do is two things...One of them....is to die...

He layed there for a second, coughtiong up more blood as the minutes passed. He had overused his powers, and they were taking the ultimate toll on him...taking his life. He laid there for a second more, and shakily got up. He looked back at Dark, and everyone else gathered there.
"goodbye...all of you...I must do one thing...before I die..."

Kohaku ran twoard him, but stopped when Kisa held his arm out.

"Kohaku, I'm sorry...but this is what has happened...I'm sorry...goodbye..."

Kohaku just stared, as Kisa walked to the edge of their peice of the world. He held his hands out, parallel to his shoulders, and looked up, closing his eyes. The symbol of the Vertuckt appeared on his forehead, turning black, visible on his forehead. His hair strarted whipping around him. The top of his clothes, his shirt, burned away. Tattoos appeared on his back and chest. They were his darkness elemental markings, and his Fire sage markings, both given to him as he became each, when he was growing up as a vampire child. He grew two pure white wings, that wingspan, was about 30ft. He glowed crimson, and the wind picked up. He sent out a message to all of his freinds that he had gained over the years he had been alive.

"To everyone...goodbye to you all...my freinds...my final wish...will be this.....goodbye..."

he closed his eyes, and a blinding white light engulfed him, and spread out, over what had once been Earth. Then, it was over. When everyone opened their eyes, they saw Earth, looking as it had before the fighting. The only difference, was that Kisa was not there. His swords, however, were stuck into the ground, where he had stood, before the Earth had been reconstructed. Life. Everything that hjad been destroyed, was rebuilt. all the lives lost, save for Blut and Kisa's, was regained. It looked as if nothing had happened, that the battle had never taken place. It was finally, over.

(to all who see this, just look at the hq thread I have and say if you wanna join or not...the one in FFD is pretty much dead...ot even one post, so I can just do it here. I have 2 characters pre-set though, and you both know who you are. so, let the story commense!!!)

The blinding white light emitted a ray of light directly at Shinu's barrier and sent him twirling into a flashback of the last night he spent with his family.

Shinu dear, would you please come inside now? How can you avenge Kisa's death when you have no one to take it out on, and no food in your stomach. Just come inside, Ryan hasn't left that window watching you train.

Shinu put Nuraki away and strides deliberately across the lush green lawn. He walks up to his wife and gives her a soft kiss.

I don't know how you can put up with my sweat the entire time babe. I couldn't do it, but that's why I love you.

You love me because I put up with your sweat when we kiss? You are so romantic Shinu. However could I have taken the one second to say yes to your proposal? Every girl's dream is to have a man who appreciates her sweat tolerance.

Oh Asuka, I do believe it was that sense of humor that captured this cold warrior's heart if I am not mistaken. Or was it something else?

Shinu looked her up and down with a smirk.

I'm just kidding babe! Don't kill me. No matter how strong I get, you are still the only person I am afraid of. The only scarier thought than getting you mad at me is the thought of losing you, whether it be my death or yours.

Oh hush will you? I hate when you talk like that. You know I do. Don't you think I worry about you? The Great Shinu, warrior to be remembered for all time! I know that's you and I know that you have worked hard to deserve that. But you better realize Shinu, that all great warriors fall like Kisagaru did. Where would that leave the kids and I? Have you thought about that?

Why would you ask me that? You are all I think about. You know I love my kids and only fight when the world needs me. Asuka, don't worry, the only reason I survive fights with demons, vampires, werewolves, and other monstrous creatures is the unrelenting will to see you another day. Speaking of my kids, where are they? Ryan! Jacob! Where is my little mama? Marita! Where are yall at? Come outside for Daddy!

Ryan, came running full steam ahead. He was 15 now, the eldest of Shinu and Asuka's kids. He was tall for his age, just like his dad was. He was a full 6 feet tall now and a very capable fighter himself that Shinu was definitely proud of. Ryan always did a great job of teaching Jacob how to fight when Shinu was away with Kisagaru last. Ryan's powerful calves showed through his training tights that he was wearing while doing his agility training. He had dark brown eyes and the hair to match which he combed straight down everyday to save time for more training. Although he was smart, he gave up his studies to become the man of the house like his father did before him.

Jacob came running and jumped on Ryan's back to let him carry him the rest of the way. Jacob was 13 now and the though capable of fighting, hated to do so. He didn't partake in the training that Ryan voluntarily put his body through. Jacob was a true intellect and a creative prodigy. His music talent at 13 was nothing that Shinu had ever seen, not even from Hylas, his good friend. Jacob sat with Marita and would sing the songs he wrote to her all day long while she picked the ones she liked and critiqued the others.

Marita was a pretty girl just like her mom. She was only 7 years old, and was the only one of Shinu's children to be born without his presence. Her birthday was yesterday and she was going to be sad that her daddy had to leave so far. But he always left two days after her birthday to visit his best friend Kisa's site of death.

Asuka stood there, all 5'5 of her with her hands on her hips in a bit of dismay.

Shinu why do you always have these kids come out here to you? You're leaving tomorrow and yet you train today while your kids are inside. Go inside right now so we can eat dinner.

Ok, ok Asuka, calm down. I have to train and you know it. You never know when I'll be called into battle. I know that Kohaku is going to be there tomorrow and he may have some kind of fight that I need to participate in. I have to be ready to rumble at any time.

Ryan had scooped up Marita with one arm and was now carrying both of his siblings outside and let them down as they all wrapped their arms around their dad.

Here we are dad! How is your training going?

Good Ryan, and I see yours is too. Look kids, you know that I have to leave tomorrow to go visit uncle Kisa and cousin Kohaku. I'll miss the hell out of all of you. Ryan take care of your brother, sister, and of course your mother. You are the man now when I am gone you understand.

Ryan answered yes sir like he did every year and kept his head high like Shinu taught him.

Jacob smiled at Shinu before finally speaking.

Dad, when you come home, expect a poem waiting for you about how we did while you were gone! I may even write a song if you are gone too long, but we aren't hoping for it.

Thanks son, you know how proud of you I am? You are a strong part of daddy's dreams that he had to give up, and I don't ever want you to quit on those dreams. Your brother and I fight so that you can keep your dreams alive. I am proud to be your dad.

Marita smiled big and then it turned into a pouty frown. She always hated when Shinu left, even if it was to the store. Since his absence at her birth, he spoiled her like none other. She really was his little princess as Shinu had of course been crowned and deemed the king of many kingdoms. Her mother worked with her every day on public speaking and proper female etiquette.

Before meeting Shinu, Asuka could care less what others thought of her. She was just a tough young girl with different ways about her. Her uniqueness definitely attracted Shinu to her first. Once Shinu became king, she gave in a bit and realized that if she were to have to take over the kingdom herself, she would need to improve her ways around the fake people that had all the say in the kingdom when Shinu was away. Perhaps she didn't have the best lady-like mannerisms, but she was a damn good actress and was hoping that it would become second nature to Marita so she wouldn't have to fake it.

Shinu picked Marita up and held her close with her ear on his strong chest.

Can you hear daddy's heart beat sweetie? That means that daddy loves you, and as long as you can hear that, you know that daddy will get anything and do everything for you. I want you to listen to Jacob and your mother while daddy is away. Ok?

Of course daddy! I'm going to be a good princess so that you can be happy about my behavior when you get back. Tell uncle Kisa I said hello!

I will sweetie, now let's all get inside before yall's mother kills me!

Asuka could do nothing but shake her head and laugh as Shinu's sense of humor had once again won out and softened her up. She couldn't help but give into him all the time, no matter how ridiculous his actions. Shinu will always be Shinu and she loved him unconditionally.

After about two hours of heated competition between Shinu and Ryan for eating champ of the night, dinner was finally over. Shinu won as always, but Ryan was already giving him a run for his money.

Shinu you are going to make these kids forget just how poor we were when I had Ryan so young. There were no thoughts of a King Shinu. We had to eat whatever you brought home for us and knew how to live rough. We didn't have time for eating contests.

Well babe, that's why I always make sure they remember daddy's sacrifice. Goodnight kids, I'll be seeing you in the morning before I head out.

Shinu left the dinner table and went upstairs and got undressed and into bed. He had a bad dream when he was a kid that his clothes caught on fire in his sleep and decided to sleep in the nude since then. It did make for one interesting night when Shinu and Asuka slept in the same bed for the first time.

Asuka was always the one to tuck the kids into bed because Shinu was simply incapable. As soon as the kids started to fall asleep, Shinu would make sure to do something to keep them awake so he could stay with them longer.

After about an hour or so, Shinu began nodding off right when Asuka came into the room. He immediately sprung into life at the sight of Asuka. She was so beautiful, perfect in every way in Shinu's eyes. He knew better than to tell her this though, she never was good with compliments and he had finally adjusted to it. She came out of the restroom changed into her undergarments and slid into bed next to Shinu and gave him a kiss. With the union of their lips, Shinu's flashback was over.

Shinu looked around and saw that he was alone. He typically was either alone or the first to arrive at the location of Kisa’s death.

Hey Kisa, it’s the seventh year now bro. My kids wanted me to tell you hello. I haven’t seen Kohaku yet. It really has been a long time since you and I saw one another. You crazy bastard, I’ll always love you for that. You are the one that trained me up to apprentice mage, and I do plan on finishing the training you started so long ago. We went through a lot together, and you know I’ll always be here for you. Rest easy Kisagaru.

The valley that had seen the battle all those years ago stretched silent around Shinu. He was alone, but for the marker of Kisaguru's grave.

At the side of the grave where his friend had left him, a large Rowan tree stood silent sentinel over this place. It threw it's shade over the stone marker of the man in the evening, when the sun passed into the western skies of afternoon. The sun was allowed to brightly shine the clear light of morning, however, when the sun ascended the skies from the east.

The leaves were whole and brilliant, gaining just a touch of color as spring edged to fall. The leaves, and the brilliant rowan berries alight upon the branches gave splashes of color across the limbs.

The scene was unchanged, even after seven years. The swords still stuck in the ground, were starting to rust and crack from wind damage and erosion. Everything was still, and not even a breeze disturbed Kisagaru's resting place. But, at Shinu's words, something happened. The swords started to glow white, and the ground shook slightly. Shinu looked around, trying to see the cause of the disturbance. The swords glowing a blinding white, they dissappated, and then the ground split open. Hellfires came out of the ground, and the souls of the dead could be heard screming. Suddenly, it all stopped, it was dead quiet. Then, the fires ceased, and the screaming stopped. The hole closed up, and the scene returned to normal, save for the swords. Then, everything went awry. The sky went from the usual light blue, to a dark crimson, and a storm could be heard. Thunder and lightning raged, and the wind picked up, blowing ruggedly, almost making Shinu lose his footing. The ground re-opened, and the fires resumed. the screams were ten times louder, as it sounded as if a whole village was burning to the ground. Through it all, a small orb of light appeared, coming out of the fries and wails. The orb was small, about 3 feet wide and 3 feet talll. It shot up into the crimson sky, and disappeared. Then, a white light was again seen. The ground cracked, leaving gaping holes in the ground. The sky suddenly split open, revealing a lone figure, dressed fully in white. The figure was about six feet tall, and looked to be about fourteen. On his back, were two swords, that looked similar to scimitars. The were long, about 5 feet long, and slightly curved. One was Red, and had a blood red orb attaced to the end of the hilt. The other was almost identical, except this one was a cyan like color, with a cyan orb attached to the hilt. They gleamed in the crimson light, as did the figure. The figure just hovered there for a moment. Then, he plummeted to the earth, right where the grave had been. The rowan tree that had looked over the marker was slightly shaken, but untouched, as was everything else. the only thin that had been touched, was the exact area where the two swords had been in the ground. Thre, the ground was destroyed and charred, and there, lay the figure. He still glowed from before, but other than that, he was fine. No marks of any kind were upon him from the fall, and his swords were still slung over his back as well. The figure shot out of the ground and sky, the sky, with its crimson glow and storm, combined back together, and slowly but surely went back to normal within a couple minutes. The ground, still having gaping holes within it, closed, leaving only a couple cracks in the ground. Other than that, and the lone figure, the scene looked as it had for the past seven years.

Shinu ran over to the lone figure on the ground, and took a step back when he glanced and saw who it was. The lone figure in white spwraled over the ground, was non other that Kisagaru. One could not tell it was him, unless he or she had known Kisagaru for as long as his aquantances had. They could sence his aura, and it was very distinct. Shinu could only look in awe at his deceaced friend come back from the dead. Kisagaru lay there, unmoving, unconcious.

Unnoticed by either of them, a bird shot from the shaken branches of the Rowan tree. A small wren, little larger than a matchbox.

It zipped through the air and went North, in the opposite direction the birds should be going this time of year...

Mieli, the Aesir's last defender of Midgard stood at the gravesite of the sage Kisagaru. His one time partner in saving Midgard from destruction, and accomplice in the reconstruction of reality and stability has perished. It wasn't what would be considered too much to bear, as for an Aesir, loss is something that must eventually be coped with.

"Painful it is to know that the great things you've done and the great things that were in your potential to do may never happen again."

Mieli lowered his head thoughtlessly.

It's a shame that it had to end again when it was so apparent that it would start all over again. I'm glad you're here Mieli, perhaps we should transport him somewhere, I'll be damned if we leave him here to rot under the savaging ways of the vultures menacingly hovering over are once again fallen comrade. My kids may visit this site some day, and I cannot allow them to see this.

The wren alighted upon an outstretched finger when it finally landed. It twittered rapidly in it's birdsong, before flying off again.

"... ... ..." The figure that the hand belonged to set off east.

"I hope you didn't think I would leave the body of a hero disrespected like this in the middle of a wasteland."

Mieli looked at Shinu and nodded.

Right, well there is a village not too far away from here. It should bring back memories. We should be able to lodge at the Any Race Love Bar and Inn down on the south side of Mizuraki Village.

Let's get started then.

Shinu leaned over and grabbed underneath Kisa's head and leveraged his shoulders on his forearms.

Mieli grabbed Kisagaru's feet.

"Do you think it is best to haul a dead man exposed such as this all the way to a village. Should we find a resting place for him outside the village, or would we be better served as to find cover for this hero?"

Mieli, I think it's best that we use an old trick and preserve him in ice. I'm sure you can handle this. I'll use an old spell Kisa taught me to make carrying him easier, Float. We'll carry him into the deep forestry outside of the village and lay him arest until we explain things to the Inn owner and then we'll carry him in through the back of the village when all of the villagers are in their huts again. You ready?

"Why are you carrying Kisa?" Lucian asked his hand on the hilt of his blade

Kisa came back to life, and we need to get him to a resting place in the thick forest brush so we can get him a place to stay at the Any Race Love Bar and Inn in Mizuraki Village. We could use another hand and perhaps you can stay with the body until we get the room. Good to see you Lucian.

"I suppose I'll help, but i find it pathetic that we're carrying Kisa." Lucian said, "But im not about to miss a chance to fight him, so i might as well stick around"

What's so pathetic about it? I'm glad he's alive, this is my mentor we're talking about here.

The trio approaches the woods and Shinu lets Lucian get kisa's arms.

I'll take a break now and keep Nuraki out, in case something or someone tries to surprise us in the forest.

"If you would prefer to drag him across the ground Lucian, I have all I need to know about your character and disposition of disrespect."

Mieli took it upon himself to freeze Kisagaru solid in an ice casket. The weight was added to carry, but the consistency the ice provided made Kisagaru much more manageable to carry.

At the burial site where Kisaguru had rested until now, the air suddenly became disturbed, and a figure appeared.

It wasn't so much as the person had suddenly appeared there...

It was more like, it had always been there, and space has simply... unfolded, to reveal it.

"... ... ..." The trio was surely far enough away by now. The figure, shrouded in black, set off at a parallel course to the one they had taken, cutting through treacherous marshland.

Lucian lifted Kisa over his shoulders. "Disrespect...no, but i know Kisa would rather die than have me carry him anywhere." Lucian said as he walked on

He did die, and now he is back. He's still barely alive, but I think this time Kisa would like to pull a Goku and have another shot at life. It may be selfish, but I want him to see my kids again.

Shinu stops and looks and focuses in on a sound.

We're not alone men. Be on guard, this harsh terrain doesn't produce those noises on its own.

The figure was at least 2.5 kilometers south of them. Unaware of the company's stop, it continued forging on through the marshlands.

It seemed to be going to the village as well...

"Its kind of hard to fight with this guy on my back." Lucian said as he set him down and drew his blade, "Carry him yourself, ill stay here and greet this guest."

(meh...I'm gonna go ahead and make my appearance...^^)

As the party was looking for the strange figure following them, something else came upon them, the party unaware of the other prescence. It was a large shadow, about 5 feet in diameter. It made its way over to the arty, sneaking up behind them. And, while they were looking in the other direction, it soundlessly hovered off the ground. it sprouted long arms, covered in spikes, with long, sharp claws. its legs, were the same. Then, a head sprang up. although, one couldnt say that it was a face, for it was just a shadow with no eyes, ears, a mouth, or even a nose. It could see nothing, only sense things around it. and it sensed, everyone. it moved its head slightly, looking as if it was staring at each person in the party. Then, its head made it to the frozen Kisagaru. It stared at him for a quick moment, and then looked back at the others. It looked around until it came upon Shinu, and it glided up into the air. it waited to strike.

Lucian slashed the ice coffin, smashing it into tiny pieces.
"welcome back..."

It looked at Lucian, seeing that it was the opertune moment. It jumped in front of him, and slashed down. Lucian, already broken the ice coffin, didnt have time to counterstrike. Suddely, Kisgaru's eyes shot open. He appeared in front of Lucian, his hand blocking the creatures attack. It looked at him, and disappated, appearing into the tree it had been in earlier. Kisagaru looked at it, with his gold eyes. He put his hand behind him, drawing his Garuda from its large sheath. Its Cyan color stood out in the freen forest. Kisagaru slashed at the shadow creature from the ground, making the air around his blade form a tornade. as he slashed down, it raced at the shadow. It jumped yet again into the air, making the small tornade cut the tree to peices. as the peices fell to the ground, Kisagaru struck. The creature, unable to do anything while still in the air, Kisagaru jumped at it. His blade, Garuda, was left in his left hand, as he reached the creature. as it moved its spiky arms to block, Kisagaru shot his right hand forward. It peirced the creature, from one side to the other. The creature wailed out in pain, as it disappated into the air.

Kisagaru landed havily on the ground, facing away from the others. He had his back hunched, as his breathing turned heavy. His eyes had a dark glow in them, and his fangs started to grow, making them come out of his mouth. He breathed heavily, still hunched over.
