And about the hair. When my punk friends do their gravity defying spikes. They don't abuse hairgel, they use the proper amount of crisqo.

personally the anti social part seems to piss jimi off the most.... n i agree...
but lots of character in ff r similar i think... n the reason mainly i think its because the
love part wasnt really the focal point VII's storyline... n they neva really fully developed character interaction as much at the time... n this kinda personality jst kinda stuck... anyway hes like the only real tragic hero.... he had friends die for him.. his life is a mess... hes dreams r crushed.. hes doomed because he know he will eventually become sephiroth... he neva really had a great life like other characters in ff... tidus was doomed in x but he didnt know til the end n he wasnt sure wht exactly would happen after sin... but cloud was doomed n he couldnt do anythin about it.... hes like a living time bomb... anyway hes character is the quiet hero wit the messed up past... he pretty much looses everythin in life.. unlike the other characters who get the girl at the end..

He gets no one because of the stupid love triangle. He can't move on because Aeris. He does love Tifa, but because of the heavy guilt of him believing that he let Aeris die won't let him move on with his life. But now that Aeris said it herself to him in Advent Children, all Cloud needs a little time to recollect himself, eventually moving on with his, with Tifa.

He's supposed to be a failure. That's what makes his role and personality unique. Besides, they want you to understand him so that you get why and how he makes his decision. Cloud is NOT the worst male leader ever. 6-6

i think they want u 2 see him as a hero tht has feeling and more human then other characters... after 7 they kinda go down tht route in really developing their characters.... i mean tidus freakin disappears after he saves the world... tht kinda thin isnt very common... the hero tht fails or the hero tht doesnt hve a happy ending.. because then the character becomes non recyclable...

I personaly like Cloud. He sure dresses better than my fave FFX main character Tidus.

I think Squall is lamer than him. But the reason why I started to stray away from Cloud is because he is SOOOO overrated.

I've played FFVII for my first FF. And I FELL IN LOVE with the world FF. I back tracked and started playing FFVI, FFIV, etc. {My personal opinion, a better FF than FFVII, I think it's the best, but it's not my fave, FFX is} and to be honest, FFVII got most of the glory because it was the first FF on PS, first with CG's, first that a lot of non FF players started playing so it got the glory. People who back tracked {most of them, not all} say "this sucks" WHy? because it has inferior graphics to FFVII.

Don't get me wrong, I LOVE FFVII, I'm still playing the spin offs, they have awesome characters. My fave is Yuffie and Vincent. But once again... I have resent for Cloud because of all the fans that have bashed the classics and any other FF following after {FFIX to be a good example} because it wasn't as "COOL" as FFVII. You know what the hell I have to say? Cloud, quit fucking drifting and get over Aerith and go with Tifa WHO OBVIOUSLY wants to start a family with you. Aerith's not yours anyways. Your dead buddy is making out with her in the lifestream.

Wait... I guess family, in bed with a hot chick, and friends is too much for a Main character.... Wait.... how come Tidus and his gay pants managed to do all that and get Yuna in waters? talk about a water bed. Or a Wet dream should I say... har har. Not too mention, despite all of Tidus' crying, he still managed to laugh and smile and save the day. sorry Cloud lovers, but Cloud is over rated.

Ugh. Having played and completed Crisis Core and FF VII i can safely say that CLOUD IS A DICK! The bike isn't his, the sword isn't his and he just sucks compared to Zack. He gets addicted to Mako for christs sake! (Pwned)

Zack is my favourite FF chracter (Yes i think Tidus is over rated as well), just because he is.

And he's generally cooler Razz

I think you two just did the job I've been trying to do. It's safe to say that all the male leads in the FF series are kinda overblown and have their weaknesses. Maybe Square knows what men don't know about women.

Women LOVE a man with issues because then they aren't so insecure about themselves. The best women always think that they can make a pathetic guy better so those male leads aren't for us, they're for the women who wish they had their own adorable feminine guy to love and fail at making better.

How they look is one thing, but I can think of many people who would enjoy Tifa and appreciate her the way she should be. Cloud sucks, pretty much.

That's funny, so far most of the 3d final fantasy's have had blondies as a lead (Cloud, Zidane, Tidus, Vaan).

Don't worry FFXIII has a pink haired chick named "Lightning". So I think they're going to break the cycle. Honestly I don't give a rat's ass, I don't look at the main character's hair too often. But now that you guys mention it, you are absolutely right. As long as they have the bouncy teenage gals like Yuffie and Rikku, I'll be happy.

wel... the person designing the charaters is the same most of the time... meaning similar characters... you get lighting in the new game but thers still a blond who i think is gonna play a big role...
