Shinu gave her a nudge and chuckled. He wasn't big on lecturing, the guy was curious, not a problem he resisted so well himself.

To answer your question, it's Shiva's automated response to a new presence I haven't prepared her to deal with. Shiva, Ifrit, and I have been together for a long time now, especially me and Shiva. They don't need me to talk because they either read my thoughts or they will fall back on their order of priorities.

He thought of the best way to describe this and just gave him the first thing that popped into his head.

If she sensed one bit of hostility, you would have had more ice than regular humans could handle. She does this crazy thing where she summons ice in someone's vital organs and then expands it rapidly, freeze burning and exploding everything inside.

Shinu looked over at mama Faina. She was surely becoming one of his favorite people at the Garden. She was a joy to work with and even better to be around.

Shiva's not the toughest femme in the Garden though.

Faina got Shinu's hint and giggled. He was great. They got along very well and that was good.

Encases the entire inside of one's body with Ice... He knew Shinu didn't know about what Sonic was, so he didn't blame him for the explanation. That is magnificent though: He was encased by the Ice Goddess' Ice wall. What a wonderful thing to grace him.
"Ah, that's amazing Shinu," said Sonic. "But that technique wouldn't harm one of my kind."
He looked at Faina. He couldn't help but feel tiny at that moment.
"I told the guards that Shinu gave me permission to pass as a gifted summoner," he said with shame. He felt stupid for his actions, and was prepared for the consequences.

Faina glared at him, all traces of laughter gone.

Are you insane? You could have been killed, coming here all by yourself!

"Ah well... This is a fire cave, so I figured I'd be fine heh..." he shrunk even more as her glare was fixed upon him.

Shinu put his hand on Faina's shoulder, trying to calm her down a little. It probably wasn't going to work. Safety was always her number one concern with people. The guy was a little crazy, definitely to be out here alone, and then to lie to the guards that could clearly report back to Cid. On top of that, he felt as ifhe couldn't be harmed by Shiva because of his adept skill in the ways of ice magic.

Look, we're not going to tell on you, just be more careful next time. Safety is important to us here. We've suffered over forty casualties since we opened. Thirty eight of them were suffered by people with no back up. We're not doubting your ability, we just don't want to lose more students.

Shinu saw his reflection in Shiva's eyes when he turned to look at her. She was thinking that Shinu was growing up and he was. Normally he would have just reported it to Cid and be done with it, but Shinu was becoming more compassionate by the day. His mind was always channeled and in tune with his surrounding now. His perspective on life was different.

Why don't we get out of here? It's getting a little hot and I only have two minutes left anyways before the trial is over. Faina, we'll pick this up later.

With a sigh, Faina nodded. She'd beem looking forward to this for weeks...

Sonic felt like he had a lot of explaining to do. Shinu didn't seem to believe he was impervious to Shiva. He was half right. If Shiva pierced him with an icacle, he was finished. But what Shhnu didn't understand was that Sonic was more than an Ice adept. He was the very essence of Ice. His body almost frozen, all of the time. The only thing kept warm was the blood so it could flow. If Shiva were to try freezing him like Shinu said, it wouldn't do a thing except make him feel wonderful. Even his blood could be frozen for long periods of time. Sonic knew that Shiva understood this. If she didn't, then Sonic would be very surprised. The Ice Goddess was his people's main God. He learned a lot of things about her. He wondered what it was like for Shinu to control such beauty.
