Taking A Walk

Faina was wandering around the forest near the Garden. She needed the fresh air. Everything was falling apart. Everything was wrong.

Earlier that morning, she had gotten a letter. From her mother. Faina's father was dead.

Fana loved her father more than anything. Well, technically, he wasn't her father. Her biological father had been an abusive bastard that had beaten her. Thankfully he had died when she was young. Her mother had met another man, Lucas, a few years later. But he was more Fainas father than anyone else.

And now someone had killed him. Her mother had found him with a knife between his shoulder blades, laying face down in their home.

Crying, Faina found a patch of grass where the sun shone through amd sat down, burying her face in the knees. How could this have hapened? It wasn't fair...

Kira was training, again. But he needed to go somewhere outside the monster range. Somewhere new and different. With stronger enemies or a larger number of them, the ones in the monster range had started to avoid him for some reason. Kira walked through the forest after finishing his second hour of training, looking for a stream. Hoping that he could catch and fish and cook it to re-generate his energy that he had lost. Then he heard sobbing, and water rushing. Making his way to he stream, he knew that someone was crying next to it. Entering the clearing at the banks he saw Faina with her head buried in her legs.

Faina? Faina whats up?

Kira speed walked over to Faina, tossing his swords to the side before coming to a halt next to her.

Sniffeling, Faina looked up. It was Kira- sweet, great Kira.

I.. My dad... Someone murdered my father yesterday...

She began crying again.

Kira plopped himself next to her, forgetting about the cut he had gotten today, and wrapped his arm around her. Pulling her in towards him, Kira hugged Faina tightly.

She hiccuped and shook her head.

No... He's gone, Kira. Someone killed him. I don't know what to do. I want... I want to find who did it and.... And... God, Kira, I want to kill him. I don't like the way that makes me feel.

She turned her head into Kira's chest and closed her eyes, sobbing.

Listen to me, killing someone for revenge is not the way to go around it, its not a punishment. Killing someone as an act of revenge is only going to start more killing and hatred. Killing someone for revenge, then that person gets killed for killing that person in the first place. Its a never ending cycle. Please don't go down that path Faina. I'm here for you and i always will be.

Kira held onto her tightly, conforting her.

She felt her shoulders relax a little as she leaned into him.

No i am fortunate enough to of avoided such things. My mother how ever did suffer that when i was young. But what i just told you was her exact words to me. I haven't any of my family in 10 years.

He loosened his grip on Faina, trying not to hurt her. Kira's stomach rumbled from his hunger, making Kira shudder.

Feeling his stomach, she giggled. It suprised her. She last thing she felt like she should be doing is laughing.

Yeah a little, been out here for two hours, just training.

Kira laughed a little, the best cure for a broken heart is laughter. He stroked her hair while laughing.
