Nioelle stared out at the ocean. She needed time away from studying, so where better a place then the ocean. She inhaled deeply, closing her eyes. She loved the scent of the salt water, and the sound the waves made as they crashed against the shore.

Oh, mom, I wish you could be here now.

She still missed her mom, and still talked to her often. When Shinu wasn't around, it was her mom that kept her happy.

Kira walked along the beach, watching the sun. It was almost sunset and the clouds where seperating from each other, moving away from the sun. His blade was dragging along in the sand, making a thin line in it. He thought that he would be alone for the night, as he was still angry at Shinu for leaving, his pupils red from his fire element rising inside him. He knew a relaxing scene like the sunset on a beach would help him to clam down. Walking along the beach, the waves gently lapping against the sand, the occasional wave reached his shoes, Kira noticed Nioelle sitting alone on the beach, staring at the ocean.

Hey, i didn't think ill see anyone out here.

Kira walked towards her, stabbing his sword into the sand so he could sit down and watch the sun. It was getting closer and closer to the horizon. The sun would set before to long.

Kira's words broke her silence so suddenly, that she jumped. She turned around and smiled.

Hey. Just needed to get something off my mind. Mind if I sit?

Without waiting for a response, she sat next to Kira and looked at the sky. She was glad that the sun was setting, so that she was able to view the sky without squinting at it. She was also glad someone came, as she was getting lonely being by herself.

Nioelle tried to hold back tears as she watched the sunset.

Y'know, this was the beach Shinu and I had our first kiss on. I can't believe he just left like that.

Nioelle wiped her eyes, and realized how stupid she was being. It wasn't meant to be, anyway, she thought. They had fallen for each other so quickly, it was too good to be true.

I'm sorry; I don't want to pour my troubles onto you.

Kira looked over to Nioelle, concerned about her, anyone could tell that she was really hurting on the inside. But she was right though. Shinu was the first person to attack the galbadian army back on the mountians, and then pretty much an hour after he goes and joins their ranks, it is unbelievable.

Nioelle, listen, i know that Shinu left without even giving anyone of us any sort of reason why, but what i do know is whatever he reason is, it's a good one. All we can do is make sure he has a home waiting for him where he is loved when he returns okay? And i am here for you. Let me listen to your troubles.

Nioelle smiled sadly at Kira.

Thanks, but they're nothing really. I just...fell in love with Shinu too quickly, that's all, and now I'm paying for it.

Nioelle took a deep breath, half to enjoy the fresh air, and half to stop herself from crying.

I'll be fine.

Nioelle laughed loudly at the face Kira was making, unable to stop herself. She didn't feel as bad now that she was able to laugh.

That helped a little.

Her laughter faded, but her smile remained.

Kira got up to go find some twigs next to the back of the beach. Finding a few good sticks and a few twigs he made his way back to Nioelle, smiling at her. "God dam Shinu's got some explaining to do." He made a small tepee shape out of them in the middle of them both and let his fire element flow into his right hand, and on to the sticks, setting them alight instantly. With the fire crackling and the tide pulling further and further out, they would be warm and dry for a while yet.
