Johnathan Grieves practiced his swordsmanship in solitude. His two handed sword was incredibly powerful, and amazingly fast for its size. His zweihander was his first choice in any fight for its shear power. And he had learned to release his attacks in a wave of pure energy.

Next came his longsword. The longsword was his greatest weapon. Perfect length and strength and it could be used for any type of attack. With a double sided blade his sword could slash both ways and the point on the sword is perfect for thrusts.

His last resort are his daggers. But the term last resort does not mean he isnt as deadly with them as he is with his other blades. With his daggers he could easily take down a heavily armed knight and the two daggers are perfect for throwing if the need to attack at a distance is shown.

Grieves is a truely ferocious warrior and little have ever fought against a better swordsman.

Corenian strode into the training area hoping for some time to keep up his martial arts tarining when he noticed someone was already inside. He stared in amazement at the vast number of weapons the person carried which to him, seemed quite pointless.
"Go ahead, say something, otherwise the only person you're over going to talk to is me," the spirit teased as it flew over his head. Corenian glared at her, knowing thatt she was just teasing yet again. However, he knew what she said was true, thus mustering what courage he had, he strode up to the person, trying to look as normal as possile.
"H..hi, nice bla-blades you've got there, but why do you carry so many? After all, they'll only weigh you down in a fight," Corenian said in the most normal way he believed he could.

Grieves turned to the newcomer. He was unarmed, so that meant he was either a martial artist or a magic user. His body seemed strong enough however so he guessed martial artist. Though he seemed very nervous with Grieves, the fear obvious in his voice.

"Relax, we're all friends here." Grieves started hoping to get the man to calm down. "but to answer your question I use this many weapons because I'm proficient with them. And to be skilled with many different blades is always good. Better to be prepared for any situation. But where are my manners, my name is Johnathan Grieves, and you are?"

"Martial Arts you say?" Grieves said with a smirk on his face, "That must make you incredibly strong and agile."

Grieves thought to himself for a moment. How would a martial artist fight against someone who wielded blades. He must be very skilled to be selected for the Garden, but still he wondered if Corenian could best his swordsmanship.

"Care for a sparring match friend?" Grieves asked gripping his Zweihander tighter, "I can guarantee no fatal attacks. The worst you might leave with is a minor cut that a band-aid could fix."

"Errrm..wha-what?"
Corenian looked to Fia, unsure what to do in this situation, however, she just gave him a nod of approval.
"You're never any help when i need it Fia... well, guess i may as well do this," he sighed. Reaching into his trenchcoat, he pulled out a pair of wooden knuckle dusters. "Ok then, lets do this, i won't use the metal ones so that there won't be too many injuries.."
Looking once more to Fia, he foud her hovering in the air between him and Johnathan, waiting to observe the match. Heaving one last sigh,Corenian stiffened his body, his entire personality making 180 degree switch as he got into a figthing stance, his brows furrowed in concentration as he stared at his opponent with eyes that were once fearful but now relaxed and slightly cold.
"Well, lets have some fun then, it'll be the first time i'm training with another person rather than fighting one in a real fight,"

"Ill try not to kill you" Grieves said jokingly as he got into his fighting stance pointing the massive blade's tip at his opponent, a stance he didnt normally use.

'lets see how fast he is' Grieves thought to himself lunging forward, slashing the blade horizontally at bicep level.

Flipping backward, Corenian quickly got back into a fighting stance, eyeing the person.
"The attack was fast for such a huge sword, amazing..." he panted he would have to be more cautious, nevertheless not attacking was out of the question.
Lunging forward, he dived for the ground near his opponent, sliding almost under him, raising his palm in a strike aimed at the stomach

Grieves put the flat part of his blade in front of the fist blocking the impact. The force of the attack launched him into the air. Out of pure instict Grieves grabbed the throwing knife strapped to his left leg above his boot and launched it at his opponent as he used the sword as an anchor to stop him from hitting the wall. As he lifted his blade into the air and slashed downwards sending a crescent of energy at him behind the knife.

Barely recoiling in time from his attack, Corenian managed to dive out of the attack though the knife managed to cut his leg as he dived away. Rolling yet again into a figthing stance, Corenian tried to shrug off the pain. This brought back quite afew memories from the times he spent evading pursuers back in his slum life and during the course of his martial arts training.
"You know, just because i fight with my fists dosen't mean i can't hit you from afar," he remarked as he finished staunching the wound.
Using his fist, he slammed the gound, dragging the hit in an arc which sent a small arc of sharp rocks flying toward his opponent.
