You are only as terrible as you think you are, Shinu.

Kira walked over to the dummy and struck it with a sideways blow. The dummt flew into its partner on its left and both of them hit the ground with a crash.

You need to make the sword and extenson of your body, not a weapon. Like a third arm. If you can see the sword as that and not as a weapon you will easily be able to knock these dummys on the ground like i just did. Now i dont think a large weapon is suited for someone of your speed level, try using a long sword or even the katana.

Alright, which one is that?

Shinu fumbled around with different swords, not particularly knowing which one was best. He remembered reading about a game though, and their motions were like swinging. Maybe he could incorporate that.

A long sword is exactly that. A sword which is rather long. I wouldn't pick a double handed weapon, so i would say you should pick one out of these.

Kira removed a bunch of the weapons that he had picked and placed them in a line against the wall for Shinu to take a pick out of. Going from the left his had chosen a long sword, shortsword, katana, scimitar and at the end was two short swords, for dual weilding purposes.

Right, now those are most proberly the best weapons for you. The dual shortswords are there as a out of the box item. Try the scimitar. It can be quite deadly is used correctly. Even this wooden one.
