Ah, yes... the magic of social networking. That is, unless you're trying to friend someone who's not in your network. Then you're pretty severely fucked if you happen to have a common name.

Facebook just returned 500 results (which I think is the cut-off) for John Smith. Actually, about a third of them ARE in my network.
