The Search for Luminesca

There once was a kingdom that feared no darkness, for it was always emanating a light that penetrated any darkness. It was said to heal wounds, physical or spiritual, repel those who bowed down to darkness, and protect those that lived inside. Eternal peace was within the kingdom.
Until one day.
The day that shadows tainted the golden aura of this sacred kingdom. Strange shadows intruded the kingdom, oddly unfazed by the blazing light. They pillaged the kingdom of light, killing anyone that was alive. Soon, the shadow figures had reached the throne room, the room where the barriers of light were controlled. They were surprised to find only a princess, kneeling on the floor, praying spells as fast as she could. When she saw them, her eyes widened with emotion; not fear, but regret and shame.
The princess was captured and taken to the town guarded by her kingdom. She watched the shadows suffocate and murder her people, the people that she loved and protected.
''How does it feel to see your civilization crumble to pieces?'' the shadows knifed at her with their cruel questions.
The princess knew there was only one way to end this.
And so, the princess released her final spell. Her own body burst into millons of small molecules. Light suddely erupted into the air, making all of the darkness deteriorate.
Little did she know; even after her sacrifice to protect the land she loved was made, the shadows returned and eventually wore away the kingdom's popultaion.
But, in every darkness, there is light. And even as the people are gone, the kingdom lives on, unconquered and still shining.

That was the kingdom called Luminesca. It was legendary and said to ''forever shine in the darkness, and heal those within''. Whether or not the kingdom really existed was unknown.

Most people did not believe in Luminesca. It was told to all the children of Kina, although no traces of it were ever found. Nobody ever felt the need to find this place...

Not until the strange diseases started to spread.

Not until the people of Kina began to die, one by one.

Kina was not a poor country; actually, it was quite wealthy. Unfortunately, the Kinans cold not stop their populations from decreasing.

Because the Kinans did not know how to cure people of this strange sickness, they went to their gods for help. The god Pyro, and goddess, Luna, watched their people suffer, but were helpless and could not fight away the strange epidemic. Finally, it was decided that a select group of Kinans would go on a quest to find Luminesca, and search for the cure there.

At first, Kina went in an outrage. ''Why must we find a fairy tale? We cannot waste our time while our family and loved ones are dying!'' That is what many people said to Pyro and Luna.

''There is nothing we can do,'' Pyro and Luna said together, their voices mixed and simultaneous.''Luminesca is our last hope.''

And so, group was chosen to find Luminesca.


(This RP requires some people to act as the undelined characters in the intro, or if you want to act in the place of one of the charcters and change their name, you can do that as well. We will need
- Three melee fighters
-Three mages
- Others that do not rely on magic or weapons (any number of people)
- The princess of Luminesca
- Pyro
- Luna
-Any other people that don't fit into the first three categories, who want to be in this rp

Uhm, just a little heads up:

It looks like you need 10+ users. That's not going to work. I'd be surprised if you got more than four. You might want to be a little less ambitious.

I know, I thought about that but didn't have time to change it yesterday.

Grr... I need more time on the computer.

Actually, it seems that all of a sudden, everybody decided to go have life-altering crises. Which would explain how Jimi's and my shiny new RP died so quickly.

I don't have any life-altering crisis, so you can still count on me when the rp picks up again.

Ok then! Let's start!

(At the crack of dawn, the adventurers leave their home town, Zetheran, and set out for Luminesca. They venture into the deep forest of Kina, massive in area and lurking with danger.)

Kel stared back into the city, lit up and beautiful at nightfall.
"Are we ready?" her voice was flat, devoid of emotion.
The trees that usually looked lush and healthy green had a contradictive look at night; the trees clung with vines and leaves fluttered to the ground. An uneasy silence hung in the air as the members of the party advanced.

Sorel sniffed the air and turned to look at his party members. He didn't know them well, and from the looks of it, this journey was going to be a long one...better get friendly soon...
"So, what's up?" He said to nobody in particular as they proceeded into the leafy-floored forest.

Night was calm and silent, enlighten with beautiful crimson lights that were spreading from Zetheran devouring darkness that laid around. This was first time Aardeth was to leave on a journey so far away, so far he ventured nowhere but regions around and those were two day trips or so, but now he was to find real adventure.

"Are we ready?" he heard Kel asked whole group and Aardeth was first to reply "More than we shall ever be." he spoke, his voice almost like trembling but it was just the coolness of the air that made him shiver. Aardeth cast a look over his equipment to check if he has everything needed. His katana was safely tied around his belt and his staff safely in his hands, that was all he was going to need on this journey.

"So, what's up?" Aardeth heard Sorel speak to nobody while looking at the forest they were heading to. Coming from behind Aardeth gave him a slight punch over the shoulder and replied "Come on don't be so stiffed up. This journey is to be fun only as much as we allow it." Proceeding on Aardeth passed by to catch up the rest of the group that was slightly ahead. After all he had all characteristics of a leader and it wasn't up to leader to stay on the rear.

Marinus stood staring in to the sunrise. It was the first in quite a while that he had seen, he was always a person not fussed on getting up early. He was thinking heavily, about the friends and family he would leave behind, and the dangers that lay ahead.

A voice broke Marinus’ concentration. He turned to see who it was, but realised the group was further ahead. Marinus ran up to them and tagged along near the back. He still wasn’t fully awake and didn’t feel like talking much at the time.

“So, what’s up?”

The man next to Marinus tried to start a conversation, but all Marinus could do was let out a yawn. Luckily someone else joined in to the conversation and Marinus was able to go back to his lazy walk. His sword, clinking against his shielded right arm was the only thing keeping him entertained.

After a couple of minutes of walking, Marinus already felt more alert and ready to talk.

“So, how long do you think it will take to get to Luminesca?”

Marinus looked up to see if anyone was going to answer. After a moments pause, he brushed his long hair to the side and tweaked the chain that was hanging off his neck. There was a symbol of courage hanging off the chain that shined bright when ever there was darkness.

Kazu, the jumpy, always ready to go type grabbed Kel's shirt sleeve. "Are we there yet??" Kazu whined. Kazu was the youngest and most annoying of the group, but also liked to provide the comic relief through all the seriosness.
The greenery all looked the same to the young flick reaper, and he was getting very impatient.

Kel glanced at Kazu with a straight face, but said nothing. They cntinued into the forest path.

Kazu sighed. "Fine, Ignore me." As the kid of the group, he liked to annoy people. They continued to walk, seeming to wait for their destination to come to them. A vile scent filled the air, and the atmosphere seemed to change mood. Kazu's crimson eyes became narrow.
"Something or someone's coming," he growled through bared fangs. "And the smell of blood is smeared all over it." He saw that Kel already had her weapons out.

Yeah, see... I can't do that, because all of the out of character stuff is already here.
Please make a new thread in the new forum that I've made for you in the RP section.

You can just say to refer here for everything that happened before your post.
