Hola. I'm taking the SAT...ok, who thinks I'm too young to take it? (Because I do ^ ^)

Well, I need help on a lot of things. I suck at problems with graphs and functions. I need someone to explain it to me because I haven't learned it yet...

I'll tell you guys if I need help on other stuff too ^ ^

I'm not sure what SATs are because we don't have them here but I'd love to help if I can ^^ =]

you're not too young btw, you're the same age i was when they asked me to take it. there's no pressure, just do your best.

You shouldn't take any standardized tests until junior year, because that's the standard the tests are standardized for.

I think these tests are absolutely terrible ways to judge a human being's capability, and both these tests along with the GRE should be washed out.

I think more stress should be on professor reccomendations and writing samples.

Well I think that it's good preperation and experience if she decides to take them. Because let's face it, how soon do you reckon those are going to be replaced if ever?

On the other hand she doesn't have to take it if she doesn't feel completely prepared.

Hm...well this one is not functions, just normal math. Here's the problem:

Grace has 16 jellybeans in her pocket. She has 8 red ones, 4 green ones, and 4 blue ones. What is the minimum number of jellybeans she must take out of her pocket to ensure that she has one of each color?


And I have no idea how to get it...

The answer's 13 jellybeans.

You have to at least pull 13 because that's the worst case. you'd then have gotten all 8 red and all 8 green and so the 13th you are guarnteed to have pulled the last color, blue. obviously this isn't likely, but that's the absolute guaranteed way.
