Yes, speaking from the experience of actually being offered scholarships from Harvard, Princeton, Yale, etc, I have one tip for you. Prepare yourself to be more confident than everyone else. Lack of confidence seems to slow people down a lot. Second guessing yourself and checking your work over and over again can drastically affect your test scores. If you do the work and find the answer, choose it and go to the next problem. Don't dwell on it or anything, that's how I've done all my tests. Yes, I have made some small mistakes that I may have been able to correct, but that confidence carried me through problems that I may not have normally gotten correct or had enough time to properly make an educated guess on. I'll take my chances with the instincts I have rather than being 100% certain on the few questions I get that luxury with. _________________ Poem: A Jimi original Image: Mia's great work!

Vocabulary is the hardest for sure. There's nothing you can do to work your way through the problems. You either know it or you don't. So my suggestion is to start now. Learn 5 words per day. Use them in your posts or conversation, and do it again the next day. It's like learning to spell or read, you just have to practice a lot. _________________ Poem: A Jimi original Image: Mia's great work!

Yeah, you're right. Critical reading is my lowest part, anyhow. I hated it >_< Alot of people say latin help, but i'm taking latin right now, and it doesn't help if you don't know your latin roots. _________________ Spinzaku!!!! Yay for Code Abridged on Youtube! It's on my faves~

Latin could help, I agree. Think of it as basketball. Shooting jump shots help you be a better player, but you can't be better in games if you don't actually play games. I think Latin would be a nice basis, but if you don't actually learn words, you won't have a good vocabulary. _________________ Poem: A Jimi original Image: Mia's great work!

Math was always my worst part. It's not that I couldn't do the problems. I just never had time to finish them all, which is infinitely more frustrating than just getting them wrong. My advice: DON'T LOOK UP. Your desk and the paper in front of you should become your entire world for the duration of the test. If you want to be able to keep track of time, take your wristwatch off and put it on your desk so you never have to look up. If you look up at the clock during the test, you might just happen to notice that the person next to you is done and leaning back in their chair while you're only about half-way through the test, and then you'll start to stress out because you're not nearly done, and then you'll wonder how many other people are done, so you look around and see another one or two people done and then you stress out some more, and then you're shaken by the time you go back to the test, and that next problem in front of you seems kinda complicated, so you'll skip it, and since you've already set the precedence of skipping problems you might skim over this one and just look for the easy ones, and maybe you suddenly notice how much noise that bastard-who's-done is making moving in his chair, but maybe that's because he's cramped from sitting around, on account of waiting for the next section which is creeping closer and closer, and then the OTHER guy next to you is just finished, and........ (ad infinitum (or at least until the test ends)). In short: Your desk is your entire world. The room, the instructor, the other students cease to exist for you. All that you need recognize is that you have a test in front of you, and you have to finish it. Oh, and study for the test. That might help. _________________ I think, therefore, I'm a liberal.
