Last quarter I took pre colonial period African History up to 1880. This quarter I am picking up from there until present day. Also, I was offered a scholarship to do study abroad in S. Africa. Even spending 2 days in Pretoria lol. The scholarship was only partial, so I didn't accept it, and I have a lot of responisibilty here on campus, but I thought you would think that was funny that they would offer me that, what a coincidence lol. _________________ Poem: A Jimi original Image: Mia's great work!

The scholarship and university I would have studied with was all through my school itself. It was for 4k and two weeks in S. Africa, Pretoria being just one of the stops. So we would be jumping from city to city and studying different things as we went. All of the course work would be done before and after so that the trip was all experiments, studies, and observations. I wonder if I saw you would you even recognize me just because of the sheer shock lol. _________________ Poem: A Jimi original Image: Mia's great work!

My grades... mixed reaction. I'm doing terribly in Pre-Calculus. I think I have a B in that class now... if I don't ace the final, I'll be lucky to climb to an B+, barring a miracle... I'm doing surprisingly well in both my APs, though. I've got an A- in AP English, and I think I'm doing alright in AP Computer Science. Plant Science is a joke, I only took it because I had an empty slot and needed to fill it... So easy A+ on that... It's really just Pre-Calc that I'm worried about. We've got finals on Monday and Tuesday... Oh yeah, and I took the SATs today. It was just... pain. Three hours of pain. It wasn't hard. It was just way too long, and not enough time to finish everything of every section. Not surprisingly, it was math that I had the hardest time finishing every question of... How were your experiences with standardized tests? _________________ I think, therefore, I'm a liberal.

Well I really like standardized tests. my greatest asset in test taking is my confidence. That gives me tremendous speed and if the test gives enough time for regular students to maybe finish, that means I have too much time to take it. I'm one of those, always done first people. Either I know the answer, or I don't, and I am ok with that, so that allows me to be done with expedience. _________________ Poem: A Jimi original Image: Mia's great work!

| Today was the academics awards assembly for last years academic results... I received a gold certificate [average of over 80%], full academic colours and an iris award [top ten in each grade, we have about 350 learners in ours] uhm...yay? i think i should be more excited bc i can probs get a bursary with all this but it seems so empty an achievement? _________________ The wrongful embodiment of souls

Well we talked about the beginning stages of colonialism in how it affected the culture in S. Africa by meshing so many different people together. I just saw intuitively how the Dutch and their thirst for land would anger the Khoi and how the British following them would push the Dutch into the Bantu. Ultimately causing a lot of hostility and so forth. We talked about a lot more, but that's what I remember off of the top of my head. And i Know now that Afrikaans is from Dutch descent. _________________ Poem: A Jimi original Image: Mia's great work!
