PostSubject: Myths & Legends   Fri Feb 22, 2008 5:44 am

It was a gloomy day as Cino walked alone the ravaged streets. He was still trying to comprehend how fast the world had changed. One day the world was human dominant. The next, it was teeming with vampires, werewolves, drac'nyrs, demons, humans, and various other races. Humans always read children stories about vampires and what not, however we always thought of these as mere myths to our way of life. They intrigued us, however we knew that they didn't exist...or so we thought. Now the Earth is no longer human dominant, it has become a mixture of races co-existing with each other, clashing with each other, and other races just staying neutral to the situation. It was all because of Human's will to continue research into sciences and other fields of archeology. A group of diggers had discovered ancient tombs scattered across the globe. These tombs each had odd and dizzying symbols engraved upon them. Giant stone tablets laid across these tombs. They were soon decifered which was the first mistake. It unlocked gates that should've been kept sealed. The myths were unlocked, the legends unleashed. The world was now the playground for these so called 'fantasy' creatures. The first thing these creatures did was start to wipe out the human race until finally these creatures had enough territory to actually build their own societies.

The vampires were a long told myth down Human history. Most stories were told that they sucked your blood and turned you into one of them. It was thought they were just blood sucking killers. However this wasn't always the case when they finally emerged from hiding. The vampires preyed mostly on the humans in the beggining, however once the territories had been established, they soon wavered off and ceased their attacks. There were some however that still relentlessly killed whether it be human or not. The vampires soon became engaged against the werewolves in a war. The two races fought ferociously against each other and the war is still being waged to this day. Vampires have soon disreguarded humans as a food source of even threat in favor of their more blood thirsty opponents.

The werewolves were a beastly race when they emerged. They quickly took territory over and slaughtered men, women, and children indiscriminantly. They formed packs and soon legions. The lycanthropes were a warmongering race as they ravaged the lands. Soon their attention turned to worthy adversaries and waged battle against the vampire race. However there are still packs of werewolves that assault Humans for fun or perhaps food. Nobody has been able to discern their real intentions.

The Drac'nyrs are a lizard-like race. Their scale covered skin was a deep read and their eyes varied from yellows to greens. They emerged solemnly from the volcanic islands mostly and kept themselves isolated against the rest of the world's races. The Drac'nyrs are a race built upon respect for each other as well as other races for their unique traits, however the Drac'nyrs have only now begun to leave their volcanic lands that are now in danger by demons who have been seaching for new souls to devour. The Drac'nyrs respect the Human race, however not all humans feel the same way towards them, thus the Drac'nyrs tend to try to stay away from Human camps or cities. Their weapons resemble those of tridents and scythes. It is said that only their leaders use a magic they call Crystalix. Their magic allows them various abilities most never live to tell about.

The Demons are one of the most akward races to arrive to inhabit the world. While demons were always told by Humans to be servents of the devil himself, this is not entirely true as it appears they have their own agendas. Demons have been known to come in various forms and sizes, however there is no doubt in their color. They all appear to be shadowy creatures that can blend in easily with night settings. They stalk the weary and defenseless and wrap their bodies around their targets. Their eyes gleam red as they slowly drain your body of energy and then the worst thing happens. Your soul is extracted and absorbed into the darkness. The bodies simply slump over, lifeless as the demons engulf those as well, sometimes absorbing different traits of their prey such as a tail or set of claws. Demons are feared by all races and are not to be trifled with. It is said they rarely communicate, however some beleive they communicate with each other telepathically.

Humans who once held the Earth high and mighty have fallen from grace. Their cities mostly destroyed and overrun by the new found creatures and races that inhabit the world. A large portion of the population died, almost 66%. With most humans now in hiding and very few willing to act the human race seems on the verge of extinction if it were not for the last tablet found. The slate was nearly entirely devoid of inscriptions, however the only phrase written was 'Shape your fate'. Most were puzzled by this, however deep inside people, new powers were beeing awakened. It was a time for a new era in Human history as humans began inheritating powers unimaginable. Their weapons normally couldn't compete with the creatures, however these new powers allowed them to level the playing field. Many of the powers founded were magics and Guilds were formed around those who had been 'awakened'. A new capital city for the Human race was constructed in the center of the former United States. The town was aptly named Tabula Rasa. The city was as close to Human civilization as you could get. It almost seemed to be isolated from the outside world. Perhaps it was through the magical towers the Guild mages had constructed. A barrier envelopes the city and seems to protect it from most attacks and invaders. The town is as close to peace as Humans can have...

Cino quickly shook his head and looked around. His red hair wavered in the wind for a moment as a bit of dust kicked up into his face. He shielded his eyes for a moment before slumping on the dirt ground. He looked down to see his black Kimono as well as parts of his dark blue trenchcoat coated in a fine dust. He simply brushed it off a little before listening to the silence. It was quiet at night in Tabula Rasa. Even though the barrier protected everyone, people still didn't feel safe being out in the streets. Were they still afraid of each other? Cino sat in the center of a small park that was conncted to the main street that lead to the city center. There was a beautiful statue of the globe in the center. Water always trickled down the fountains on the side and lapped against the stone pool beneath the statue. There were various shops and houses on the corners of the street as well as a somewhat large theatre. Cino gazed at the theatre for a moment. It had velvet red drapings outside as well as revolving doors brimming with gold. It almost seemed familiar to him. He thought in his own mind for a moment. Cino saw himself inside the theatre on stage. He was playing a piano in front of a large crowd of people dressed in somewhat victorian style clothes. Next to him was another person who he couild barely make up playing another piano. The music enthralled the crowd as the notes danced across the air. The duet's music sang loudly as they played their pianos. In an instant Cino's mind came back focusing on the outside of the Theatre. He shook his head again.

"Almost seems like deja vu..." He muttered to himself. "I never remember playing the piano or anything like that but here I am thinking of it right now. Invisioning it..." He whispered to himself as he got up and began to take a stroll down the cobble street. Cino's boots pattered against the cobblestones until he finally sat down on the granite pool edge of the globe statue. Cino extended his glvoed hand as he let some of the fountain's water trickle down his arm. Cino's long dark coat draped down over the granite as Cino laid down on his back against the granite and gazed up at the sky.

"I just don't even know who I am anymore..." He began whispering to himself before hearing another set of steps pattering against the cobblestones.

Kisagaru yawned, walking through the deserted streets of the town. He sighed as he looked around, seeing no one. I never see anyone in these streets anymore... He kept walking. maybe it's because I'm a vampire, it's not THAT visible. I hate being the only one here. But, I'm a contracter to them. But then again, I took the job because I knew I'd have some fun on it. It's always so boring in these cities. He had been wandering the streets of the town for hours, just walking. When he was seen by anyone, they hid, knowing he was a Vampire. He didn't know why people were afraid of him. He didn't kill humans, unless instructed to. They all refered to him as the Crimson, because of the clothes he wore. All of it was red. For that, he was easily recognized, and they fled from his sight, thinking he would kill them. He had been one of the first Vampires here, and he was one of the first to abide with Humans. He had saved a couple from a pack of Werewolves and Lycans, but only for the sole fact of who they were being attacked by. They tried to say he was there to kill them, but he had convinced them he wasn't. He didn't care for Human blood. That's when they contracted him. They asked him if he wanted to become an ally, and get paid for it. He didn't refuse. The other races that had come, the Demons and Werewolves, disgusted him. They had no regaurd for anyone but themselves, and killed aimlessly. That's why he contracted, the only reason. They could get information and the location of the other races easily. He took most of the jobs, except the ones against the Drac'nyrs. He didn't kill what didn't cause anything. The Humans feared all the other races, and wanted to destroy them all for their own gains. He sighed, but looked up when he heard someone in front of him. His reminiscing stopped, and he quickly looked up, bringing his right hand to his holister on the inside of his jacket, just below his shoulder. He stopped when he noticed a human. He took his hand out of his jacket, and looked at the human for a moment.

"you. what are you doing out here so late? these streets might be known as safe, but nothing's ever safe."

(I'll be using Kisa but with a more Hellsing-type character)

Cino was still in a bit of a daze, a daydream somewhat when he heard the muffled voice. He looked out over in the corner with his emerald green eyes and took notice of the figure in red drapes. Cino kept silent as he reverted his attention back up to the sky. He didn't flinch nor attempt to move himself from his position. Perhaps it was because he didn't really care enough or that he didn't feel threatened.

Heavy boots clunked softly on the cobblestone. It was easy to move through these streets without catching suspicious eyes. The human cities were dead, humans themselves were almost like the walking dead these days. No fun whatsoever, unless another race were to barge in and raise hell. Which, Fell just might do if she felt the need to for whatever reason.

She was a Werewolf, but no one would be able to tell unless they knew better, or unless they really looked for it. She wasn't as large and bulky as her other kin, even when she wandered around, taking on the appearance of a human. Compared to most wolves, she was somewhat petite, although she managed to tower over most humans [human women, anyways] at exactly six feet, two inches. Her height, however, was trivial [there are a lot of very tall women out there, folks]. At least, compared to her hair and eye color - the only other things that could possibly make a human turn a suspicious eye in her direction. And so, her hair, a shocking, cherry red color, was stuffed under a black hat. Her eyes - an icy, almost transparent blue - were hidden beneath a pair of dark, green tinted sunglasses. These precautions were just to avoid drawing attention to herself. She didn't want any trouble before she, herself could start something. As the days went on, though, it seemed less and less likely. As said earlier, the streets were dead. Ever since the humans had been kicked off their throne at the top of the food-chain, most of them had become zombie-like. Or... at least, mouse-like. Always living in fear of the big kitties out there, able to snap them like toothpicks between their teeth, and gobble them up.

Although maybe things would liven up around here. There was vampire stench all over the air in this place. And being a wolf, heightened senses amplified this rotten stink. Which was enough to make her sick to her stomach. Once she found that thing, if she found it, she'd snap it in half and bury it somewhere [just like a dog would do].

Fell froze upon hearing voices ahead, however. Maybe things were livelier than she thought, or maybe humans were just incredibly stupid. Or bored. Or suicidal. Or all three. Either way, out of curiosity, Fell stopped walking when the two males were in her line of vision, watching them carefully.

[Wow, that SUCKED. xD;;; But oh well...]

he sighed, at the humans complete disregaurd of him. It wasn't very supprising to him, though. This had happened ever sonce he had arrived here. But, he had been attacked moments after he entered. The mages that had constructed the barrier were brainless for not putting a hostility amplifier when they made it. If any other race were to enter, they would have been instantly attacked, like he had. The creatures that had attacked him, he thought they had been cyborgs created by the humans, would not cease their attack, even when he told them of his contract. So, he had to kill them. The humans were angry with him, and called him a monster. He made quick work of that, with a little persuasion. He hated humans who thought they were better than everyone else. And they were in large numbers here. When he met them, he showed them how good they really were. He grinned slightly, showing his fangs. Thats when he heard it. Large footsteps, careless and menacing. That meant one thing; a werewolf. They were always in human populations, unseen, unknown, unlike his race. He frowned. He looked up. His eyesight was as good at night as it was in the light, and he saw a large woman standing there staring at them. He knew for sure then that she was a werewolf.

"kid...if I were you...I'd get out of here. Unless you want to die, that is."

he reached into his coat, to his right holister where his gun was kept. He slowly pulled it out, letting its black frame be contrasting to his crimson colored coat, and brought it up, slamming it down to shoulder-level, aimed at the werewolf.

(like this: )

"release to level five. keep unsealed until target is neutralized."

He grinned.

"you can come out now...werewolf girl."

"How natural, your races are at war. I don't think we can sanction such a killing here on these grounds. And what is your proof?" Cino rose from the granite that he had laid upon and looked over. He glanced from the red draped man to the girl that stood before them. Something about her sparked something in his mind. She looked somewhat familiar for some reason but he couldn't put his finger on it. Cino was about to open his mouth and say something to her but abrubtly closed it and looked back at the vampire.

"Its odd how this is the last so called civilized city of Humans and there are other races here..." Cino looked at the vampire. Cino never really felt hatred towards the vampires or any race except the demons perhaps. They of all were the most cruel creations that began to inhabit the earth. He shuddered at the thought of them.

he chuckled, looking at Cino.

"How typical. Humans think whatever they do is perfect, without exception or flaw. It infuriates me so to think that humans have that mindset. Lietn here, kid. The so called, protection, of that barrier the mages of your race created, isn't at all perfect. It's annoying, though. I came here on your leaders requests, and I was attacked at the gate. The barrier only helps against some, not all."

his grin stopped, and turned into a scowl.

"and then I see that a werewolf got through. the barrier must be deffective to let something so easily detected in. Werewolfs are idiots, who couldn't conceal themselves if they had help. They disgust me. More so than humans who think everything they do is perfect. I'll rid the world of annother tonight."

"And you didn't even come to think that some of them have been living here the entire time without the Human leaders knowing. Its simply not all of them wish to live with hostility and some find it more peaceful to live here." Cino's face tensed slightly.

"I could actually care less who lives where, and besides theres something more to this place than what we've been told..." Cino looked at the vampire squarely in his eyes.

"And I don't think I'm better than you, if we could all live in peace it would be fine but its not the case." Cino folded his arms.

"I'm not letting you hurt anyone right now..." Cino looked back to the girl. There was something that he couldn't shake about her but simply shook his head free again of these silly thoughts.

His grin returned

"Again, annother human trait. Just because you wish to stop me, it doesn't mean you can do it. Besides..."

he looked past Cino to the girl.

"I have a contract. And it's not going to be compromised by some kid. now...enough talk."

His grin got bigger, and he pulled the trigger. A Magnesium Ignition bullet raced at Fell, making a small fire trail it's movement. When it hit anything, it would explode out, like a grenade, but instead of the bullets shrapnel flying everywhere, an explosion of pure fire would race out, setting anything it touched aflame, if not melted by the explosion.

[ XDDD When you say large, you make her sound fat. She's not fat or anything, just... very tall.

Like the Tallest. >w< With their lasers. But Fellie doesn't have lasers. XD

I don't think.

That'd be weird.]

Fell let out a hollow laugh, her hands on her hips. She was tense, ready to fight. "So the vampire isn't an idiot," she stated sarcastically, a low, almost inhuman growl escaping her lips as she stared the two males down. "Neither is the human - wanting to avoid conflict." She stretched her arms out in front of her, cracking her knuckles casually, staring at the vampire, narrowing her icy eyes beneath her green-tinted shades.

"However, if it's a fight you want..." She continued to stare intently at him, "We should make this quick. The stench of your kind sickens me, I can't stand to be near you for too long," she snarled once again.

At the same instant the bullet was fired, Fell lurched forward with such a quick movement that the black hat on her head was hurled into the air, struck by the bullet. Fell's cherry-red hair was tossed about like wild fire, in the gust created by her quick movements.

She glared at Kisa from behind her glasses, lunging for his throat [like most wolves do].
