Faina had been wandering the Academy aimlessly for over an hour. She was hoplessly lost. Eventually, she had unknowingly entered the Monster Range. After following path after path, she had finally plopped herself down on a rock and tried not to cry. What if no one found her? She hadn't really made any friends, and she didn't have any family to worry about her... she would just die here. How pathetic was that? Dying in her SCHOOL because she was an IDIOT and had managed to get herself lost less than a DAY after arriving.

A loud crack came from her left. She squeaked and jumped up. Eight eyes looked menacingly up at her from the brush. She muttered an explitive and got into a fighting stance just as the four red bats emerged and began thier attack...

Kira was training in the monster range, mainly against a tree since he had been unlucky enough to find absolutly no mosters what so ever. He had heard that it would be the best place to train with out having to leave the garden. He was next to a stream so if he needed a rest he could sit down next to the stream and take it easy for a bit.The tree itself was covered in burn marks and scratches. He was orking on a new attack.

Then not to far away he heard a person squeak or some other high pitched noise, so he decided to investigate. He came through some heavily bushed areas, scratching at his legs through his jeans, and finally managed to enter a open area, with a single girl and four red bats. Kira walked over to the girl drawing his sword from his back.

Need a hand here?

Before she had time to reply he had already put himself infront of the girl, standing between the bats and her. He put his blade in his right hand and started to charge up some fire into his left hand.

My names Kira, and right now ill be your freind here.

Not far away, Corenian was busy filling out one of his hand-written martial art manuals. The place was great for practice and visualisation which would help alot. However, a random high-pitch sound out of nowhere startled him to the extent that he accidentely pierced a hole through the page he was working one. Tearing that page apart, he looked up into the tree where Fia just climbed down.
"There seems to be a disturbance not far away, follow me!"
Giving her a nod, Corenian followed her through the thick foilage while placing his manual back in his trenchcoat and pulling out afew needles. He had never used them on anything but dummies before so this would be interesting.

Exiting the foilage a slight distance away, he saw two people who seemed to be in a skirmish with a sizeable number of bats. Remembering what he learned about bats, he tossed afew needles at the bats. Some hit spot on, piercing the central nerve system and rendering afew of them immobile while the rest flew off target hitting trees in the area, attracting some of the bats to him.
"I really nee to work on my aiming," he muttered, only to see Fia agree with him, "Well, not much left to do but fight... D-don't w-worry people, I'm on your side."

he was nervous that was true but for the reason that even in a crisis, unless he was fired up talking to strangers was not easy. Pulling out his steel gaunlets, he rushed into the bat horde hammering away.

Kira looked towards the new comer, reconizing him from the group that went with Shinu to find Ifrit. He was the one that stayed at the back and gaurded the rear while Kira was at the front with John. Not a place Kira liked being but he guessed some people do like it.

You there, marksman. We never proberly got introduced to each other. My names Kira Ashta, heavy swordsman.

Kira charged up a large fire ball, the size of Kira's chest in his left hand and through it up into the air. Kira lept up after it yelling to the man.

Keep out of the way, i have not prefected this attack yet!! Get out of the bats while you have the time!!

Kira hoped that the guy heard him, as he reached the fire ball that he had threw into the air. Kira summersaulted twice slicing the fire ball into three clumsy pieces before hitting each one with a single swing, sending them at different angles. Kira did not want to use this move in combat yet as he only started working on it a few days ago but since more bats where showing up as the group got larger He thought that he had no choice but use it. Kira saw the guy again in the swarm that one the the fireballs where heading at him.

Oh dam it all, i hope this hits.

Before Kira landed he charged up and threw a small fire ball at the one that was heading towards the guy. As the smaller fire ball flew towards the fragment of the larger one one of the bats flew infront of it, being as dumb as they are, knocking the ball of course.

Look out!!

Nia just entered the Monster Range hoping that she could try out her new swords there on some monsters that weren't too dagerous. She knew there were some like this, easy to kill and that didn't hit hard since she read a lot about the Garden. As she walked in looking around she heard few people screaming, curious what was going on she came closer to see that they were being attacked by bats that seemed to become more and more as time passed. Nia ran to the group avoiding the fire balls threw by the guy with a big sword.

Raven had been standing up in one of the trees, watching as the group tried to protect the woman that had stirred the red bats. They were doing very well in his eyes, and seemed to be working as a group like they should.

Good job you guys, we are becoming more and more a team Raven though to himself.

He then watch as his roommate seemed to fire a large fire ball at the bats. Though thats when something went wrong and one of the bats seemed to knock the ball off course.

"Shit!," Raven said outloud and looked to see where the ball was going and it was heading.

Raven then jumped out of the tree and ran as fast as he could to get past the ball and when he did get past he he turned around quickly pulling out his gun blade and using the flat of his blade to push the fire ball into the bats once again.

Kira saw his room mate block the fireball heading at the marksman and sighed with relieve. The other fireball fragments hit all the targets, but the bats numbers where growing, and night was approaching. Just then another girl came running into the battle. "We need to kill all of these bats, before even more show up." At that point in time there where five times more bats then the fight began with. Kira leapt back into the air hacking and slashing a numourous bats, wondering what the two girls where capable of. He had seen Raven and the other guy in battle and knew what some of the skills where, but these two where complete strangers to him.

Kira lept back after killing a third back and landing back infront of the girl. He needed to think of a plan before they all died here, and he needed to do it fast. "Estimated 25 bats, 5 people, gunblader weilder, marksman, heavy blade weilder, daul swords weilder and a unknown. How can i make this work?" Kira thought to himself. "We need the marksman with the girl behind me to provide cover attacks and Raven's gunblade to take out a number of foes at once, If i can make my fireball fragmentation attack bigger we may be able to reduce the bats numbers by halve in one attack. But Raven needs to get them gathered together and the random dude needs to throw those needles to attach some of them together."

Raven i need to you horde the bats together, random dude can you get behind me and when Raven finishes i need you to throw your needles and attach as many of the bats as you can together, new girl can you help Raven round them all up and occasionally hack at them?

Let us hope this plan works. Kira put his blade back on his back and leapt into the air charging up fire mafic into both of his hands this time and waited for the right moment to unleash this attack.

Corenian sighed as he heard himself being called a random dude. THough it did not matter much to him, it still felt wierd. Hammering one of the bat's skll inward, he dashed behind Kira.
"For the record, my name is Corenian and I'm not a marksman, I'm just a martial artist with many unorthodox fighting styles," he yelled over the sound of the battle, the battle spirit having already taken over him. Using the steel gaunlet he wore over his right arm, he hammered the ground once as hard as possible, hearing his knuckles creak slightly as the ground in close proxmity to him trembled. Not far away, a splutter of rock spirals flew upward, stabbing randomly into the surrounding bats. Rubbing his knuckle, he grinned statisfied to himself, pulling out a number of needles which he tossed at the bats. Some managed to hit on target but some just deflected in random directions, hitting trees and the like. With that, Corenian sighed to himself muttering how he had to work on his aim as he pulled out another salo of needles.

Faina kept muttering to herself about what a big mess this was. Shit! she thought. These guys were going to get hurt trying to help her. She bit her lip and tried to help, but got pushed back out of the way every time...

Then everything stared to get hazy. She knew what this meant. She started to shake and her entire body screamed with pain- not sharp, but dull and aching.

EVERYBODY MOVE! she screamed.

As everyone scrambeled, a bolt of lightning struck the ground. The earth shook and trembled and groaned under the power of the blow. As the smoke cleared, a great winged beast arose. His wings were gold with beautiful green-grey patterns.

Faina stumbled as the beast hovered before her. So here he was again, the thing that had brought her to this place to begin with. She felt dizzy. But she knew what she had to do.

Please... she murmured. Please help.

The great monster- what had they called it? A Guardian Force?- gave a blood-curling screech and thunder rolled. Lighning struck the bats, frying them on the spot. Faina felt the bile rise in her throat. Charred flesh had that effect on people.

After, the beast turned and looked at her. She knew she should be afraid... But she wasn't. This GF had saved her yet again.
