[this is set a while after Shinu's return]

Oogie ran the small flint along the blade of one of his swords. He had seen terrible things at sea, without even mentioning taverns and loose women. When he was satisfied that it was sharp enough he sheathed it, and pulled out his revolver. He checked the bullets one by one, they were dry, and none had lost any shot, a good sign. With a deft spin of the barrel he flicked his wrist sharply to the right, locking the barrel into its correct position. His long coat was heavy, he shrugged it off of one shoulder and threw it down, drawing as it fell, a long red scarf from one pocket, which he fastened around his waist. In his black leather and pirate hat he felt ridiculous, he always felt naked without all of his attire, but like this he was a finely tuned killing machine. he clicked his neck, the resultant click caused a student standing not far away to recoil slightly, this made Oogie chuckle, he did like it when people were disturbed by him, made them easier to frighten. He would have to ask Shinu what they were like about pranks in this place, he did of course have his more... playful side.

Hey you, got anything big to fight around here? Im in the mood for bloodshed.

The blank stare that greeted his statement assured him that yes they had something big, and no, he wasn't going to be able, or even allowed to fight it on his own. He sighed heavily, people slowed him down, except Shinu of course. BUt if he had to work as part of a crew he could do so. He leant his head back and yelled as loud as he could.

Who wants to help me kill something... big.

Faina had been wandering aimlessly through the range. She was bored. And none of the monsters tended to bother her- it probably had something to do with her summoning and whatnot. MAybe they felt she wasn'a threat.

She heard someone yell about killing. She sighed. Another psycho. Stepping out from behind a tree, she saw the yeller. He was... Odd. But not exactly scary. Who the heck was he, she wondered, laughing.

Yeah, we have some big stuff. Nothing that could kill you, though.

Oogie spun to look at the source of the female voice that had adressed him, he sized her up and spoke quickly, not wanting to appear slow.

Well there you're correct, would take something huge to kill me, how big does the stuff here get?

Oogie's mind ran, this girl had been behind a tree, and was now quite clearly sizing him up. Unusual but certainly not by his standards, he took a few steps forwards, closing in on her slightly, he didn't want to frighten her, merely test her resolve.

So, do you fight, or are you one of the book worm types round here?

Faina sighed. Did he have to size her up like that? It aggrivated her.

We have some dinos and whatnot, but they're pretty scarce around me. I'm a summoner, so a lot of creatures leave me alone. And I fight when I have to. I think violence is... Usually unnecessary. Only acceptable when defending or training. But even then, killing is wrong.

She smiled sarcastically. She was in an odd mood today.

My name is Faina. She held out her hand for him to shake.

A summoner? Oogie shuddered, he had seen some terrible things conjured from little more than fire and air. He extended his hand to grasp hers, and shook firmly. He resisted the temptation to turn her hand over and kiss it, she didn't seem like she would take any such nonsense.

Well Faina, I'm Oogie, captain Oogie actually but thats not important. Its a... pleasure to meet you.

He allowed his eyes to lock with hers, she definitely was not getting a good impression from him.

And i don't kill for fun, only for neccesity, my abilities center on shadow, when you can be practically invisible killing isn't needed, I just have to work out a little,... frustration.

She nodded, understanding. She knew frustration well. She kinda liked this guy. He was odd, but in a new, funny kinda way.

Shadows, huh? All I can do is scream for help and make monsters appear, she laughed. Not much of a talent or skill, but the only other summoner here is Shinu, so... Anyways, if you want to fight something, I could leave. If I don't, you might not find anything at all. Sorry for interrupting.

The way he looked at her made her squirm and resort to her old shyness. Wow, she hadn't tried to excuse herself from an awkward sitaution in months. Kira was messing with her. She laughed to herself.

This girl kept laughing, it made Oogie shiver a little. He liked it, even though she kept glancing away. Scream for help? Surely if Shinu was anything to go on this girl could call forth magnificent forces.

No please stay, I don't know many people here, I have ways to find things to fight, even if you just stay to watch.

Why was he pleading with her like this? He really wasn't sure, he felt his face grow red, and shook his head slightly, hoping his long hair would cover a little of it up. He reached into his sash and pulled out a glass vial.

These are pheremones from a few monsters i've.. encountered.

He threw it high into the air and, as fast as his reactions allowed pulled his revolver free and fired a shot straight into the glass tube. It shattered ina glorious light catching display of glass and liquid.

If the noise doesn't attract something the smell will.

This guy looked skeptical when she mentioned her powers. She quickly elaborated.

I'm nothing like Shinu. He's an amazing summoner and I'm just a trainee. I don't know anything and I can't really summon on command. Just when I need help. She sighed.

She found herself laughing again when he blushed and shot the vial.

I really don't think I want to be here if you're going to hurt a creature. It kinda goes against the grain, ya know? I'm all, in tune with nature. Hahaha.

His brow quickly furrowed, he didn't want to upset her, definitely not, she was sweet, and certainly very pretty. He shook his head, these thoughts were... improper.

Then I shall not harm, merely... toy with ma'am, if that would not displease?

There was a crash in the overgrowth, as of a large creature moving towards them, he locked eyes with her, searching her pupils for clues. This girl was definitely interesting, and he had made quite a bad start. Despite her laughing he was sure she was wary of him.

Faina sighed, remembering her first time in this place. She'd saved Kira and Corenian's butts. Would this guy need her too? She doubted it.

Be my guest. Just don't seriously wound anything, okay? She bowed out of his way, interested to see how he fought and how strong he was.
