The group headed Southeast out of Balamb Garden, their first time as a team. It was a fairly exciting moment for everyone involved Shinu imagined. It was a pressure packed moment for him though. If he couldn't get Ifrit with the best matchup possible and a team of warriors talented in all areas of study... well then why were they even at the Garden? He closed it out. In fact, he closed it out just in time, because they had already made it to the hollowed volcano. The beautiful lush green grass and oceanic view couldn't even enter Shinu's mind for a moment he was so scared of this mission he had been waiting for.

Alright everyone, before we enter, just a few things. It's going to be hot if you couldn't tell. Be prepared to break a bit of a sweat. I'm going to leave my jacket outside the cave, and I would advise you all to do the same. Raven, can we get the report on the monsters in this area? Any bit helps. Remember everyone, we're a team now, the fate of the world is in our hands together and not seperately. I will do my best, just get me to the center of the volcano.

Shinu gulped and turned his back while he unbuttoned his jacket. He was scared at how he may have been received. Was he too bossy? Too snobby? Could they tell he was scared? Would they even listen to him? What if...? Ah! Enough with the questions, all that didn't matter now, he had a job to do like everyone else.

Corenian just gave a firm nod and tossed his white trenchcoat aside, pulling on the steel studded glove which werethe only weapons he ever needed.
"Well, what do you think Fia?"
"Hmmm, well it dosen't seem dangerous enough for you to die, be careful."
"geez you didn't have to phrase it that way."
Heaving a loud sigh, Corenian stared once again at the volcanoe. There was no turning back even if he wanted to, there was no where for him to turn back to.
He believed himself indebt to the acadamy for pulling him out of the slump which he called life. There was nowhere for him to turn to, only to move forward. Looking once again at the sprit, he gave her a slight nod before looking toward Shinu and giving him a thumbs up, not knowing what to say in this situation and for many situations to come he believed.

Raven followed the group out of Balamb garden, still in the school uniform. He decided that he wouldn't get out his Battle Dress untill he was more confident in the members that he would be serving with. Though he quickly glanced back at the garden and grinned a little. That was his new home and he would do everything in his power to make sure that the school doesn't fail at what it is supposed to do.

As they reached the volcano, Raven was already ahead of Shinu when he was telling them to take off their jackets if they had it on, though all he did was un button the first two buttons. "There are not much creatures that can survive heat, but i know of a couple that lurk in caverns that are heated. Red bats for one, weak creature easily able to be taken out in one shot. Then there are Buels, large bat creatures that have Six wings surrounding a head, three outer most spinning counter clock wise, and the three inner most spinning clock wise. Not a very tough creature, though its size might be intimidating," Raven said and paused to let the others take in the info. "Then there is Bombs. Basically creatures that look like fireballs with a face and arms, if you done the research then you will know that these creature will increase their size when threatened and will continue to untill the explode. Hince the name, they are something we got to watch out for."

He then looked at the group and nodded. "I believe thats all we should run into, keep your guard up."

Grieves had prepared for the moment, his battle garb already equipped. His longsword swayed at his side, butterfly daggers on the back of his belt and a throwing knife at his boot. In his hand was the powerful Zweihander Johnathan had come to name Cataclysm. The edge was sharp on both sides of the blade, and the shear size of the blade made it hard to believe that anyone human could even carry the damn thing, let alone use it as a weapon. It stood as tall as Johnathan and even though Johnathan made it look effortless to use, the shear weight of the blade would create massive pain in any type of creature.

Johnathan let out a deep breath. Used to combat situations Johnathan wasn't nervous, but letting out that breath acted like a trigger for him. His mind now was set on combat, on his mission.

He stepped forward past Shinu and looked into the darkness that was the cavern. He could feel the heat resonating out of the entrance. Steam rose from the ground around the Volcano. A smirk crossed his face as he began to walk into the cavern. It was finally time for him to show what he could do.

Alright everyone, no surprises then. Kira and Johnathan in the front to take the brunt of the attacks. Lucien will be to my left, shooting down all the bats he can spot. Raven will be to my right, making sure we don't get flanked. Corenian, you are at the quickest so you will be at the back making sure we don't get surprised and end up defenseless. The two of you can keep an eye out.

Shinu gave Corenian a thumbs up, making sure he knew that he trusted him and his friend to do the job.

Nioelle, you're in the middle with me. You'll be casting your spells from behind the two front runners to provide them an advantage. Raven, again you are expected to win every one on one battle. If it flies, yell out to Lucien.

Shinu waited until everyone was in position, and since Johnathan walked in as he should, the coast must be clear. Together they marched.

Grieves was given his task. He gripped the hilt of Cataclysm and looked back to the others.

"Try to keep up" Johnathan said, turning his head back towards the cave.

With that Johnathan ran into the cave like a berserker. Red bats fell from the ceilings as something was stirring in the lava. Grieves assumed those were the bombs preparing to ambush him and the others. Grieves made little effort to cut the 3 red bats that made the mistake to try to stop him from advancing forward with a simple horizontal slice, cutting all 3 in half. Using the momentum from the slash Grieves turned towards the lava that was stirring and lifted his sword above him. Slashing his sword heavily downwards a beam of pure energy was released towards the activity, exploding on impact. Apparently that wasn't the only bomb in the making and 4 more jumped out from behind Johnathan, using the spell Fire on his exposed back. Grieves had barely enough time to block most of it. Smoke rose from his blade and his body. Obviously some of it got through his defence and caused minor damage. Grieves lept into the air and lifted the heavy blade over his head, slashing the blade down with enough force to cut through a tank. The bomb he attacked split in two and Johnathan turned to the others.

For Corenian, things were most peaceful at the back since the person up front was cutting most of the monsers like butter. However, he still had Fia linger slightly furthur back in case any creatures were intelligent enough to launch a surprise attack but that proved to be a needless worry. Even if any creatures would get behind, the marksman could easily get them so for now, he would bide his time and save his strength for anything else that may come.
Looking back to see Fia hovering in the distance, he smiled reassuringly to himself as before turning back to keep up with the group.

A small trio of red bats had gotten past Grieves and were heading for Shinu. Leaping into the air he threw the Zweihander like a javelin towards the three, cutting through each like a shishkebob. On his way down to ground level he drew his longsword and his throwing knife, twisting his body around to look the other way again, swinging his blade downwards through a Buel's 6 wings, cutting it clean in half, and throwing the knife with his left hand in the direction of a bomb. The knife hit home, directly into the bomb's forhead. The bomb exploded as the blade pierced through it and into the ground behind it. The other bombs beside and behind it exploded in a chain reaction, slaughtering most of the red bats and buels left inside the cave. Grieves continued pressing forward through the smoke and fire left from the explosions towards even more monsters.

Kira followed the man that Shinu called John through the fire and smoke left behind by the exploding bombs, drawng his sword while he did it. When he emerged from the smoke he was surrounded by a few Buels, and a small number of the red bats. "Is this all? I would of thought coming after a GF woulda been harder then this" Kira thought. He moved the sword to his right hand and started spinning it by the hilt. He span the sword faster and fasten then charged straight at the middle of the gathering of monsters. Kira ran at the one red bat, cutting it up as he span his blade, then he turned left to find a Buel about to attack. Kira stopped the blade from spinning as he swung his right arm, then followed by the blade, slicing right through it. Using his left hand he swung at another red bat, grabbing it and then throwing it to the ground, Kira lept into the air, somersaulted slicing through another Buel and then smalling back down to the ground slicing right through the red bat and leaving a crater underneath it. "only a few more." Kira turned around to face his last opponents. 3 Red bats and 2 Buels. Kira ran at them spinning his blade once again, but even faster this time, making a whirlwind of smoke and ash, catching the flying apponents in it, and then bringing them in closer together. Kira then jumped back up into the air high above the remander of his opponents, placing his blade between his legs and hurtling down striaght through each one of them, crashing back down to the earth, leaving a second and much larger crater.

As the team ran into the cave, bats were disturbed by their presence. Four bats came towards them at full speed, but Lucien took them out before they became a real threat. The team had their hands full, killing everything left right and centre. more bats came rushing from behind a rock, this time forcing Lucien to use both guns with lightning fast reflex.

Two buel's came from behind, taking advantage of Corenian, who was occupied by a bomb. Just before they were able to get an attack in, Lucien fired rapidly at them with his handguns, taking out their wings and leaving them to fall into the lava. Lucien signalled to Corenian that he was safe from the Buels and continued onwards.

As Lucien turned around again, a red bat flew into his face. This freaked out Lucien as he threw the bat to the ground and continuously shot at it while he ran.

"Frikin' bats, I hate 'em all!" Exclaimed Lucien as he kept a look out for more attacking monsters.
