she nodded slightly "i...i guess i thought..." she mumbled her voice getting soft

"maybe... he..." her voice was shaky and her hair was infront of her eyes

Faina bit her lip. Uh oh. Crying Kairi again. She was so bad at the cheering up thing...

Getting down off the table, she wrapped a hopefully comforting arm around her friend's shoulders and hugged her.

I'm sure he's okay.

"no i know he is ok." she said and smiled looking up at her

"its alright im fine" she laughed masking the hurt look behind her face. he hadnt talked to her in so long. she was starting to wonder...

"well the lights a little dim right here im going to sit over there. if you need any healing done just come talk to me" kairi said with a smile that seemed less bright and she grabbed her book walking down an aisle where she stood there fighting back tears as she stared blankly at the spines of the books not even knowing what she was looking at.

Faina sighed. Kairi was going to make this difficult, eh?

Kairi, she murmured, laying a hand on her shoulder. I was there when we got you out of that damn hell hole. I've seen you at your weakest and most defeated states. Don't try to hide from me. I'm here, and I'm your friend. Let me help.

"i... i dont want help." she mumbled "your a very good friend faina. thank you for saving me but... i just. i just need a moment ok." she said and hugged her then let go and walked over to the door stepping outside and sitting on the steps rubbing her eyes

Sonic had no clue where he was going. He had been walking around campus for awhile now. This place is so different... he thought. As he walked on, he noticed a girl sitting on the steps of the library. Maybe she could help. He walked up the steps and stopped in front of her.
"Hi there," he said, noticing she's looking down.

Faina sighed again, and tried not to cry. It wasn't that Kairi didn't like her, she told herself. She just needed time, that was all.

Right?

kairi heard a voice she hadnt heard before and looked up and blinked. "oh.." she said and cleared her shaky voice "... um. hello." she said and tried to pull a smile up for him "i havent seen you before..." she stated looking at him expecting an explaination

Not everyone is fit to be here. Jon may have been talented enough physically to be here, but mentally, I'm not so sure.

Shinu stepped out of his research lab and hung his coat back up as he finished his statements. He'd overheard the back end of their conversation on his way out. He hadn't given much thought to Jon since his return from prison. There weren't enough hours in the day for Shinu anymore. He was training and studying harder, he was barely even in his dorm when he wasn't sleeping or changing clothes. In fact, he was never in his dorm. He was a busy man, and even tonight he'd stayed up too late.

He's been gone for a while now. I wish he would have stayed, but we all make our choices. Sometimes the inability to move away from the past can halt us from moving forward.

As the cool breeze steadied the night air, Sonic stould still as a statue, studying this girl. She seemed sad or upset about something. Finally, after an uncomfortable silence, he spoke. "I'm new here. Are you okay?"
