Well Zodiark is easy. It'd probly just be random naming, just like how I came up with Marinus' & Lucien's names.

Most of the names arent random, i have a 2-book excyclopedia on mythology and legend, and ive seen a couple of those names in there.

Yeah, I gave a look into some of the esper names, and it looks like they use mythology & history for names.

Adramalech stands for the leader of the fallen angels
Hashmal in Hebrew stands for electricity
Cuchulain is an Irish mythological warrior


Guess they stole my ideas ;_; since the latter half of Mikael's name, Ater, stands for dark/malicious

Nah they didn't steal ur idea James.

Final fantasy takes a LOT of its things from Mythology and legend. It is a good idea really. Sometimes they keep to its original and other times it doesn't. But they did keep true with Odin and his stead, Slepinir(eight legged horse)
