PostSubject: Insubordination and Punishment   Mon Jun 08, 2009 10:17 pm

((Note: This is only for you if you were in Mission 2))

Cid sat deep in his chair, wishing he could disappear in it. This night was getting worse and worse, but he would try not to snap just yet. Erk sat to his right, already giving him a brief over view of what happened. He looked around the room at all the students who were sitting, waiting to hear what he had to say.

Where is Shinu!?

Frustration was setting in now, but Cid couldn't wait any longer. He'd have to deal with Shinu later. For now he would focus on the students in the room.

Raven and Kira, I'd like for one of you to speak first since your "leader" isn't here yet. I have but two questions. What happened. And what the hell were you thinking? The rest of you will have your chance too.

((So Raven and Kira can speak first, then it's free game. Erk is allowed to give his input at any time.))

Kira was the first to speak for the group.

From where i was i couldn't see what was going on, but it seemed that Shinu and Erk had a disagreement over the orders. Shinu declared that he was staying. That men who would sacrifice another human should be punished. Erk gave the orders to fall back without Shinu. Me and the rest here refused to follow these orders. We all feel that Erk was unfair in his judgement of leaving Shinu to die at the hands of these men, and we also feel he unjustly treated us like dirt. None of us can leave a fellow camrade at the gates of death. We will tell you that, even if it means going against orders. Thats all i have to say at this moment.

kairi just kind of inched behind kira and nodded. she was rather terrified of cid just because of the power he held to get her kicked out of the school

she kept her head down and tried not to give off that terrified deer in a head lights look but then she took in a deep breath

"i agree with kira, i didnt want to just leave a friend behind. thats not the way i was trained." she said and then returned to pretty much hidding behind kira

"My mind set was thinking this thought. Those that shed innocent blood shall have their blood spilt in return. Even if it was just one guy that actually killed the man, those others were involved none the less," Raven said keeping calm for the time being, but he knew by the end of this that he would lose his cool.

"I wouldn't leave no man behind either, no matter what his orders was."

Nia was sitting behind Raven, her hair were still soaked by the rain as she looked at him a bit worried. She didn't want him to get too emotional, this should be talked out calmly, they didn't listen to the orders so they should be punished. That's how she was raised. She knew that no matter what they would do the same thing though, it was the only right.

"So you felt that it was your duty to pronounce judgement on these men." Erk remarked from his seat beside Cid. "Tell me, Raven, from where do you recieve the authority to dispense such judgement? What right had you to judge those men to die? Are you a judge, Raven? A magistrate perhaps, charged with enforcement of the law? No? I will tell you what you are, Raven. You are a student, a vassal of this academy, charged with the duty to obey the commands of those whom have afforded you this home."

"You may hold whatever beliefs or ethics that you deem just. You may think evil or worthy of death whomever you desire. You may NOT, however, act in whatever way you see fit, regardless of orders to placate your juvenile morality. So long as you wear the emblem of the Garden, the Garden's will is the arbiter of morality so long as you choose to remain a part of it. If you think it an abomination, why stay? You certainly seem adverse enough to subjecting yourself to orders contrary to your... NOBLE temperament." These last words slipped dryly from his tongue.

"By remaining as a student at this institution, Raven, you are subjecting yourself to the will of the administration. Remember, you are under no constraints to stay. Leave if you so desire. However, as an officer of this academy, I will NOT tolerate insubordination." His piece said, Erk settled back into his chair, his jaw drawn tight. He looked angered, of course. However, there was something more behind his face. He seemed... tired.

"You know old man, you are slowly digging yourself into a hole that pretty soon that you may not get yourself out of. From what I have seen by you, you for only yourself and that only. You would have let Shinu there to die by the hand of those ritualist, those murderers. Who knows how many a men all of them have killed all together. Yet you seem not to care at all? Its kind of sickening. Do you really live in such a darkness that you give not for the welfare of others and the rightousness in some situations. Why don't you just croak already..," Raven said his voice almost like a hiss of a snake. His barrier and his cool was almost about ready to break, and there was sure to be blood spilt if that did happen.

"I do not care if my militant personality will get me kicked out of this garden really. I could high tail it to Galbadia. I am quite sure that they would love to know everything about this garden and the secerts that it holds. I'm pretty sure that will get me a top ranking in the galbadia army as well? They might as well just come and invade and perform tests on Faina and Shinu to see how they are able to summon the guardian forces. Yet you see, unlike your all mighty self there is one thing that I won't do, and that is to betray a comrade and leave them to the hands of death. Your actions tonight have shown me that you would leave someone to die. Maybe it is you that do not deserve to be at this Garden!," Raven said, his voice raising now.

As Raven was saying this he put his hand into his pocket and took a hold of his dagger by the blade and gripped it tight, he could feel the blade cut into his hands and the blood flow out of the wound. This though would be the only way that he would be able to control himself from not killing Erk right there on the spot.

"You are nothing but dirt, dirt that needs to be swept away and forgotten.."

"So sir, tell me, you don't like insubordination eh, well then, shouldn't the first step be to actually trying to make the people you lead respect you? As much as I was taught to respect the elderly, I can't bear listening to this. Feel free to scold me for saying this, you've the brains and intelligence to be a leader that I believe so, but if you treat everyone else like this, garnering respect will be harder and getting people to follow will be even harder, as the saying goes, lead by example. Hmph, anyway it has already been done, thats all I have to say," he snarled, his mind still not having returned to normal after the incursion, resulting in his temper and the still blood red pupils. With the last word, he ploped himself back in the chair, looking dejectedly out the window

"It is not up to me to decide our course now." Erk responded, leaning back into the cushions of his chair still.

"Cid is the highest authority here. He also seems to draw more of this respect you find so necessary to follow through on the contract you have made with this school. His is the final word in all matters." A sudden draft issued into the room from an opened window near the other side of the room. Erk gave a sudden shiver, and straightened himself. With an absent wave of his hand, the window swung silently shut.

"You have no respect for me; that is understandable enough. As far as excuses go, however, it is a rather poor one for your indiscretion."

Nia stood up not being able to listen to Erk anymore.

"Do you know what you are talking about? Do you even know what is going on with the souls of people that are used as a pray?! Have you seen what state they are in? No, you didn't, if you did you would of done the same thing as we did. You would want to stop it no matter what!"

She was looking at him mad breathing hard like after a long running. She had enough of what he said.
